THE ADVANTAGE OF LEARNING ENGLISH
A vey
wonderful day honorable board of judges, distinguished audience and my fellow
participants.
First of
all, i want to express my gratitude to Allah SWT, for his blessing i can stand
here before you to deliver a speech entitiled THE ADVANTAGE OF LEARNING ENGLISH
well, honorable board of judges audience, if we talk about advantage, it means the value, the benefit,
and what about learning english? It’s the process of knowing english
consciously or unconsciously, as stated by Jeremy Hammer, the author of English
teaching and learning.... so it means english can be done seriously and in fun
Honerable
board of judges and audience, I am here at this moment delivering a speech
before you, its the process of learning English, for me it’s fun and enjoyable
though I must be concerned about grammar vocabulary and pronunciation that I use
in my speech.
What about
learning English in fun? Take a look at, [singing one English song you like].... that’s the way I learn English
in fun through song, and it can be by watching movie or reading any article in
english...... Well, honorable board of judges and audience... talking about the
advantages of learning english. To the best of my knowledge there are some advantages
of learning English as an International language
Firstly, by being able to speak english, we can communicate internationally. Based on the data that I got from www.my english teacher.com, stated that there are at least 75 countries that use English officially and specially and in addtion to that around 750 million people speak English as foreign language. You can imagine that so many people use english like me and you audience
Secondly, by
being able to speak english, the job vacancy is widely opened for us because
there are some jobs that require you to be able to speak English, to be a
teacher, to be a receptionist, to be a flight attendant, and so on, all need
the competence of English. In the job interview, the competence of English is
also challenged
Thirdly, English
is the access for us to get to know the world related to knowledge, life and
entertainment. We want to know what happen is the world by getting the news,
and when it is authentic source, of course English is the language. We want to
get knowledge from foreign countries, and when it is international journal, of
course English is the language. We want to entertain ourselves with western
movies and wester film, of course English is the laguage.
Honorable
board of judges and audience, how advantageous English is for us a member of
the world community, now a question comes out how can we learn English? Well ,
I am as english learner have a very simple idea practicing it, doing it, as the
mottoes of learning english; learning by doing...
Douglas
brown in his book the principle of english teaching and learning stated and i
quote” if we learn english and we must practice, n practice, again and again”.
So honorble
board of judges and audience especially the young generation, i want to call on
you to have no doubt to enrich yourself with english to reach our bright
future...... finally i want to repeat in repeat in rhyme that “ English is amazing
just learn as the way you do “ and for STAIN, the commitee of this contest STAIN
is amazing just the way it is.... well for your kind and lovelly attention, a
big bunch of thanks....
